Thyroid-Stimulating hormone (TSH, thyrotrophin)


  • A hormone, synthesized and secreted by pituitary gland under the control of throtrophin-releasing hormone, that stimulates the activity of the thyroid gland.
  • Defects in TSH production leads to over- or under-secretion of thyroid hormone.
